What to expect
Woodfield Park CommUnity Project is developing the Woodfield Park Community Centre into a safe and welcoming community hub, delivering activities and support that are developed with residents to meet their needs. Current offers include:
CommUnity Drop-in
Every Wednesday 9am – 12noon.
- Free tea/coffee & toast
- Help filling in forms (Recycle Centre permit / PSR / LEAP / training courses etc.)
- Help writing/updating your CV and searching/applying for jobs
- Help finding support with money-related issues (debt, budgeting etc.)
- Home energy-related advice
- Purchase non-food essentials such as gently used children's clothing
- Borrow a book
- Drop off your empty ink cartridges
- Just pop in for a chat if you'd like!
Get a new book
They have a National Literacy Trust Community Bookshelf at the Centre. Browse the selection on a Wednesday morning, and feel free to donate your old books to the bookshelf.
Volunteer
They are always looking for local volunteers to help build the community. If you live locally and have a few hours a week to spare and would like to be part of something special, you can register your interest here.

Woodfield Park Community Centre is also known as the Charteris Centre, and appears under that name in Google Maps. The carpark is at the end of Normanton Road, and the centre is beyond that. There are playing fields on either side and behind the centre.
The community centre has ample parking, toilets, and is wheelchair accessible.
