What to expect

If you are having a tough time, struggling to cope, and would like to talk to someone, Samaritans are here to listen without judgement, 24 hours a day. Note that this not a counselling or advice service. Call Samaritans on 116 123 free from any phone, or email [email protected] (email replies can take over 24 hours, so do not use if you need an immediate response). Please be advised that they are not currently accepting face-to-face visitors at the branch.

As well as delivering their listening service, they support prisons HMP Peterborough and HMP North Sea Camp by training prisoners to provide emotional support to their peers. Their Outreach team regularly deliver talks and/or training at schools, local employers and community groups. And they host the occasional fundraiser.

Want to volunteer?
Peterborough is multi-cultural and wonderfully diverse. Samaritans are actively seeking to attain more diversity in their volunteer workforce and warmly welcome applications from people of all ethnic backgrounds.

Samaritans are always on the lookout for new volunteers either to provide emotional support or behind the scenes to help the branch run.
