Safer off the Streets Peterborough Partnership

Back to Support

Safer Off the Streets is an umbrella charity bringing together the organisations across Peterborough who work with people who sleep rough and/or are homeless. They help people find the support they need for themselves or others, and help organisations get resources.

What to expect

Safer Off the Streets works with partner organisations in a variety of ways for the benefit of people who are homeless or sleeping rough in Peterborough.

They maintain a website with details of the services and support partners offer, so the information is in one place. People can search for what they need whether they are homeless (or at risk of homelessness), or if someone  - whether a friend, family member or professional - wants to help someone who is homeless. Start by visiting this page. Types of support they can help you find include:

  • Accommodation Support
  • Addiction
  • Advice & Financial
  • Clothing & Personal Items
  • Day Time Drop In
  • Ex-Offender Support
  • Food Supplies
  • Haircuts
  • Health
  • Help For Pets
  • Home Essentials
  • Hot Meals
  • Phone & Internet
  • Refugee Support
  • Showers
  • Women's Support
  • Work & Training
  • Young People's Support

For people in temporary accommodation, or in general for those who would like developmental support to move forward with independent living, their 'Development Support' database on this page helps you find organisations who offer specialist support such as:

  • Benefits
  • Digital
  • Employment
  • Foundation Maths
  • Living Independently
  • Language
  • Literacy
  • Developing a sense of community

Additionally, they provide information to the general public and corporate organisations as to the best way to support people experiencing homelessness, for the benefit of their wellbeing.

More information

Safer Off the Streets also help partners share good practice, coordinate activities, and pursue the common aim of helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They provide grant funding and other support such as learning opportunities to their partner organisations as well.

Partner organisations are from the voluntary, faith, community, and statutory sectors across the city. All in one way or another support people who are experiencing homelessness. You can find out more about them here.
