What to Expect

The group is open to all those who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, those in treatment, and those who have finished their treatment.

Members can attend at any time on their cancer pathway; some members have finished their treatment 10 plus years ago and some have just started.

The meetings are informal. They often have external speakers providing talks on a whole range of subjects such as nutrition, reflexology, lymphatic drainage massages, yoga, lymphedema specialist, solicitors on wills and powers of attorney, and welfare benefits.

Every four months, two of the Specialist Breast Care Nurses from Peterborough City Hospital attend the meeting.

They also arrange and participate in at least one fundraising event per year. They have a Christmas meal each year in place of their December meeting.

There is free parking at The Holiday Inn - you need to enter you car registration numbers at reception otherwise a parking fine will be incurred. There is disabled parking available.

At the time this webpage was created, the group meets on the first Thursday of every month except January at The Holiday Inn, Thorpewood, Peterborough from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Please contact them to confirm current days and times.

There are toilets downstairs and a lift to all floors. Tea, coffee, and water is provided in the private meeting room.

There is no need to book in advance, however, new attendees can call beforehand if they would like a chat about the meeting and what to expect. They can also be met in the main reception area on the night.

Spouses/partners are not allowed to attend the meetings.

There is a small fee of £2 per meeting.
