Disability Peterborough is your local centre for free confidential and impartial information and advice for physically disabled people, their carers and families.

What to expect

They currently do not have a drop-in service available, The Fleet / Italian Community Association is only available for pre-booked appointments; please ring them to book an appointment.

Disability Peterborough have trained staff to advise and guide you on all things related to physical disabilities, including:

They provide specialist advice on money and benefits, have a wide range of information guides, and you can get involved in forums and volunteering.

Disability Peterborough also have a handyperson service for everyday household jobs that your mobility prevents you from doing, such as putting up/taking down curtains, moving furniture, changing lightbulbs and more; ring them to find out if your task is suitable, if not they can signpost you to a safe local tradesman.

They also provide wheelchair and mobility scooter hire at their ShopMobility in the Queensgate Shopping Centre, on level 11, at the car parks. They have daily and annual membership rates for the hire. For more information including their open hours, call 01733 313133.

Advice and guidance is free of charge.

Walks on Wednesday and hire of wheelchairs and mobility scooters have a fee. Contact them for more information.
