The Dementia Resource Centre provides a range of services and activities for people with dementia, their families and their carers. Run by Alzheimer’s Society Peterborough, it is a one-stop hub to get information and advice as and when you need, drop in or by appointment.

What to expect
The Dementia Resource Centre is an accessible space where you can get a huge range of information and help, and be listened to. It is for all types of dementia, not just Alzheimer's. The Centre is a cosy and warm space with welcoming staff, an onsite café, comfortable seating, a treatment room and more. There's a wide range of ages of people with dementia too, there's no lower age limit.
The Dementia Resource Team provide one-to-one support for people living with dementia, their carers and family members. Dementia advisors are able to meet you at home or in the centre, as well as over the phone or online video call.
It's easy to access support as and when you need it - just pop in, or if you prefer you can arrange an appointment by emailing or ringing them. You can contact the Centre directly, no referral is required.
Other services include:
- Support groups for people with dementia
- Support groups for family carers
- Help with computers and other digital access
- Café with a range of food and drink
- Social gatherings
- Lots of fun activities such as singing, arts and crafts, and games
- Hair salon and beard trimming
- Exercise groups

Monthly services / sessions
The last Wednesday of every month: a drop-in on where external services are onsite, for example: financial advice / guidance, a Direct Payment adviser, a sitting service adviser, and care providers.
The last Friday of every month: a Social Worker onsite. You need to book an appointment for this by ringing or emailing the Centre.
What’s coming in February
Last Thursday of every month 10.30 - 1pm: Young Onset
This is a social meet up for anyone who is 70 and under living with young onset dementia. Family members are welcome too. Activities could include visiting places, walking, music, games, pub lunch, bowling – whatever participants are interested in doing while having the chance to meet up, chat and share your experiences. Some of the activities may have a cost.

The DRC is open Tues, Weds and Fri 9.30am - 3.30pm, but telephone support is available Mon – Fri 9am - 4pm.
There is plenty of free parking: access is at 5 York Road. There are also accessible toilets.
There are also various volunteering roles, from helping in the groups, to reception roles and more. If you are interested in volunteering, then please give them a call on 01733 865710.

All of the support and most of the activities are free.

The chair-based exercises and hairdressing service have a cost, as does food and drink from the café. Some of the activities with the Young Ones group may have a cost. Please contact the Centre for more information.
