What to expect
YMCA Youth Cresset is a safe space for young people to engage in positive activities, socialise, and build new skills.
You can expect an open and welcoming environment when you come to the space. The YMCA youth workers are dedicated to working alongside young people to create an engaging and enriching programme of activities.
Their programme of activities is based entirely on suggestions and consultations with local young people. Examples of previous activities include:
- Film screening
- Mural design/painting
- Pizza decorating
- Music production
- CV workshop
- Boxersize
- Ping pong
- Street dance
- Bracelet-making
- Theatre-making
If you have an idea for an activity you either want to run or be a part of, please let them know.
These drop-in sessions take place every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-6pm in term time, and 12-6pm during school holidays. Please join this free programme by filling in the sign-up form here.
More information
There are car parks at both entrances to the Cresset where young people can be dropped off for the sessions. There are also bus stops in the car park on the shopping centre side of the building.
There is a standard domestic toilet at the Youth Cresset space, and there are accessible toilets in the Cresset Centre nearby.
All the activities are free.
YMCA Trinity take donations as a registered charity if you would like to do so, but nothing is required.
