Meet Andrea, who has been volunteering at the Wellbeing Garden, and hear how she finds it helps her wellbeing:
What to expect
The Wellbeing Garden is run by Cross Keys Homes (CKH), but is open to everyone, not just CKH residents.
You can help with all manner of tasks, from weeding and planting to some bigger building projects such as making bedding or other structures. You don’t need any gardening knowledge or experience.
The Garden is in the process of being made more accessible, but there is still some rough ground. There is a toilet on site. Sensible, weather appropriate clothes and shoes for outside work should be worn.
The entrance to the garden is down a driveway between house numbers 37 and 39 on Olive Road, PE1 4PT. See the photos for what this driveway looks like. If you are driving, park on Olive Road.
Find out more and current opening times on the CKH garden webpage here.
More information
Cross Keys Homes also offer free training and support for everyone, not just residents, across a range of subjects, including help getting into work and wider support. In addition they have a LifeLine emergency alarm, a community care service, and extra care and retirement housing solutions. See their webpage for more information.
The garden is free and open to all.
