Pilates with Becki

Becki runs group and individual Pilates classes in & around Peterborough. Pilates is a holistic exercise system designed to lengthen, strengthen and restore the body (and mind) to balance. Pilates can improve posture, balance & coordination, relieve stress and improve wellbeing.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Practising Pilates requires a level of concentration and control, making sure the movements are performed precisely. When you’re in class you need to focus inwards on your body, breath and the movements, helping you leave anything else that might have been on your mind at the door.
  • Clients often tell Becki they sleep better after a Pilates class and a good night’s sleep is a fundamental part of overall wellbeing.
  • Joseph Pilates (who developed the method) said that “Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit”. Becki loves this quote as it so perfectly describes how Pilates and exercise in general is about so much more than the body. Exercise can give you energy and lift your mood!
