What to expect

Peterborough Woodcraft Folk is based in a community garden (the Green Backyard) and the programme of activities is shaped by the young people who take part in the group. Currently they're planning on growing their own food in part of the garden, doing board games and crafts, having a campfire with singing and story-telling, and planning camping trips in the summer.

The sessions run from 6-7.30pm on a Monday (you're expected to stay for the whole session, but can leave early if needed).

There will be someone by the gate at the start of the session to meet participants and show you where to go.

Carers - formal and informal - are welcome to come along and participate with you.

The group is open to everyone aged 16-20; those aged 21+ can come and find out more about volunteering with the group going forwards.

There are bus stops near the Green Backyard. There is limited free parking on gravel, and uneven paths and ground. There is a composting toilet onsite.

Weekly session are grant-funded by CPSL Mind Good Life Fund and free to attend. Donations welcome to support the sustainability of the group.

There's an optional annual registration fee to the national organisation that means that participants are then able to go on camps, trips and events run by other groups in other parts of the country as well. Please contact them for details.
