Happy Fins Swimming Lessons

Back to Activities

Happy Fins offer swimming lessons in Orton Longueville for babies from 3 months to 3 years in adult and child sessions, and for children aged 3+ in small 2:1 or 1:1 lessons, supporting confidence, safety, and a love for water.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • swimming helps to support children’s physical, emotional, and social development from an early age, as well as strengthening the bond between parent/guardian and baby
  • swimming lessons build confidence and reduce anxiety by helping babies and children feel safe and confident in the water
  • swimming lessons also promote healthy physical development through gentle, full-body movement that improves coordination, strength, and motor skills

‘Wow what a fantastic company. Both my children absolutely love going each week, they are very adapting for my son who has SEN needs. The teachers are very caring, patient and very clearly love their jobs. Saturday swim mornings are the favourite day of the week in our house.’

Introductions to Happy Fins:

What to expect

Happy Fins swimming lessons are available for children from as young as 3 months. For babies and toddlers aged 3 months to 3 years, they offer Adult and Child classes, where a parent or caregiver joins their little one in the water. From age 3 and up, children move into small-group lessons, with either 1:1 or 2:1 ratios, working directly with their experienced instructors in the pool.

The Adult and Child classes are carefully designed to support key developmental milestones, including motor skills, cognitive development, and social interaction. Lessons are built around play, songs, and sensory activities, creating a fun and nurturing environment. As children grow, their 1:1 and 2:1 lessons focus on building water confidence and swimming technique, progressing through the Happy Fins award scheme. Above all, Happy Fins believe learning to love the water comes first.

Before your lessons even begin, you’ll have access to their family portal, where you can see a photo of your instructor and learn a little about them. When you arrive for your first session, they take the time to get to know you and your child, helping them understand your child’s current confidence and ability in the water.

No previous swimming experience is needed — that’s exactly what Happy Fins is here for. Your child will have the same instructor each week, allowing a strong bond to form and confidence to grow. Behind the scenes, their friendly team is always available to answer any questions you may have via WhatsApp.

All lessons are 30 minutes long and take place on the same day and at the same time each week, helping create a consistent and reassuring routine for both you and your child.
