Groundwork East

Back to Activities

Groundwork run outdoor activities for local communities. They are working across the East of England to create stronger, healthier communities, responsible business and greater prospects for local people. Volunteers are key to their work.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it provides opportunities for individuals to actively contribute to their local community and meet new people
  • outdoor activities help improve physical and mental wellbeing
  • the activities help improve local green spaces and outdoor areas for all to enjoy

‘I thoroughly enjoyed my learning for the 3 weeks we took part in Get Outdoors Get Active. The variation in the activities throughout the day was fantastic and really emphasised how important the natural world around us is, not just integral to life but focusing on how it effects our mental wellbeing too…It has confirmed I would like to pursue a career working outdoors/with nature and encouraged me to explore this further.’
