Gladstone Connect is an urban regeneration charity whose objectives are to assist in the relief of poverty and unemployment, advance education and training, and improve housing and health & wellbeing, particularly in the inner city area of Peterborough.

What to expect
Gladstone Connect runs a number of activities:
- Youth Connect: this youth club for children age 8 - 13 runs Fridays 4.30pm till 6.30pm. They have a varied weekly programme including arts / crafts, sports, fun and games, and so much more! Registration is essential. For further information, contact the centre manager Helen Walkinshaw on 07919 167239.
- Lunch Club for seniors (age 60+) and people caring for elderly residents in the local area. This free, once-per-month club serves South Asian food, with separate areas for men and women. In addition, they have visiting support specialists offering for example: benefits advice, hearing aid checks, Age UK information and advice, and Healthy You offering health checks.
- Happy Activity Group: a weekly friendship group for all adults age 18+ puts on activities that attendees want to try, such as cooking, crafts, indoor archery, and gentle sports suitable for all, including those with mobility issues. Free, they just ask for a donation towards tea/coffee.
- Community Advice Surgery: these drop-in surgeries with the local MP, local councillors, police, and Citizens Advice allow people to meet and discuss matters of concern and get advice on local community issues. Local residents are invited to pop in and have a chat. They are held every two months; contact the Centre to find out when the next one will be.
- Gardening Club: for families with children, this club meets through spring and summer and is a great way to learn about growing plants, with the satisfaction of harvesting food from them.

Gladstone Connect is in the Allama Iqbal Community Centre, which also houses Beeches Primary School. There is good disabled access, including toilets.
There is very limited parking at the Centre, and some on-street parking, though many 'residents only' zones as well as time limits. There is a nearby bus stop at the end of the street. The nearest public car parks are on Lincoln Road and Bright Street.
They also have rooms to hire with tables and chairs, and access to kitchen facilities. Contact them for more information.
