For retired and semi-retired adults, the Hub combines social activities with the chance to catch up over a cup of tea with special occasions marked by workshops and festive meals. Peterborough United Foundation is the charity arm of the Peterborough United Football Club.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- It gives people of all abilities the chance to engage with fun activities
- It gives the opportunity to create new friends
- It is a chance to focus and engage with positive and supportive staff who are there to help and listen

Activities are varied and are often led by the group. They can include quizzes, bingo, book clubs, gardening chats, cookery advice and much more. Sometimes they have people to come give talks on topics of interest to the groups; past talks have been from experts on scams, diabetes, and local policing teams.
The group also benefits carers – as they can get some respite for a couple of hours, or join in and take part too!
What to expect
To book, email or phone them; they can also answer any questions you have.

More information
The sessions take place Tuesdays 10am – 12pm.
Normally, sessions take place at the Idverde Training Ground. There is plenty of free parking in the car park outside the centre. However, during school holidays if this venue is being used for children’s activities, Extra Time Hub meets in other venues including the Weston Stadium and local cafes. Please contact the PUF team to confirm the venue you will be attending.
These sessions cost £3 per session, including for carers who decide to stay and take part.
