Chair-based exercise – Peterborough United Foundation

Back to Activities

These chair-based exercises for older adults and/or those with long-term health issues or disabilities provide a great way to take part in physical exercise, building strength and balance. Peterborough United Foundation is the charity arm of the Peterborough United Football Club.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It gives people of all abilities the chance to engage with physical activities in a fun way
  • It gives the opportunity to create new friends
  • It is a chance to focus and engage with positive and supportive staff who are there to help and listen

Chair exercises are an excellent way to build strength and improve flexibility without putting too much strain on your body. Chair exercises also improve mobility by increasing blood flow and lubricating your joints, whilst also reducing the risk of falls.
