Peterborough u3a

Back to Activities

Pu3a is for those who are retired or semi-retired (or beyond full time employment) who wish to remain active in mind or body or both. They run 140+ groups in a wide range of activities, that are run by the members for the members.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Pu3a allows you to make new friends in an easy-going environment
  • Pu3a gives you an outlet for either an already-loved pastime, or the opportunity to learn something completely new
  • All Pu3a members are there for just 2 things - enjoyment and socialising

'You never have to feel you are going to be bored or lonely with Peterborough u3a – there are just so many things to do. Most members go home from their groups laughing and smiling. Peterborough u3a is a really great organisation.'

As an example, check out what their Thursday Tramps group gets up to!

From astronomy to photography, learning a language to a new skill, playing chess to going on rambles and many more, there are endless activities to get involved in.

Once you are a member, some activities are free. See their website for more information.

Volunteer

There are a variety of volunteering opportunities, from helping out with activities, to admin and more. Contact them to see what is available.

Pu3a has a low membership fee to join, and then you have access to ALL of their groups. Some are free and some incur a small charge to cover any venue hire/equipment etc. All details are available from the website, but as a non-profit charity they only charge the absolute bare minimum they can to maintain the organisation.
