Thrive Netball Academy

Back to Activities

Thrive is an inclusive netball academy in Peterborough that offers netball camps and sessions for a range of ages and experiences levels, to support young people in sports, building confidence and connections.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it supports young people in sport;
  • it offers additional netball opportunities in our area to get people moving;
  • it helps people connect with others in a fun and encouraging environment.

"The girls loved camp today! Amazing variety of activities, the perfect mix of ages and abilities, and everything managed brilliantly from start to finish. Nothing but praise for all three coaches every single player felt included, supported and clear on what they were doing the whole way through. They worked hard, had loads of fun, and came away having learnt new skills they're already excited to use in game play only complaint? The day flew by and they weren't ready to go home safe to say it was a huge success - the countdown to next month's camp has officially begun!" - Parent

What to expect

Thrive runs a variety of fun netball activities:

  • Camps: for 8-16 year olds in the school holidays that focus on learning netball skills whilst making connections, building confidence and enjoying the sport.
  • Little Thrivers: Sunday morning sessions for 4-7 year olds to learn basic netball/ball skills and get into sports.
  • Development: for 11-16 year olds are currently playing netball would like to expand their skills further. Each session is set up differently and is centred around the players attending.

Everything is prebooked and paid through their website. Parents/carers can email Thrive with any questions beforehand and they are more than happy to help. On a first time, Thrive will always have coaches to welcome players in at any of the sessions and to speak to parents/carers to reassure them too. If a child is nervous, staff often buddy them up to support them. Camps and Little Thrivers are suitable for complete beginners. Camps can range between 4-6 hours. Little Thrivers is 1 hour. Development is 1.5 hours. There is no pressure to stay the whole time if anyone needs to leave early or arrive a little later, staff work with flexibility at Thrive.
